New Arrival Astro Trimless Recessed Downlight

The Astro Trimless Recessed Downlight is a trimless ceiling downlight from Astro’s Trimless range, designed for architectural ceiling installation and directed downward illumination. Its matt white finish helps the aperture read as an opening in the ceiling rather than a visible fitting, and the product carries a 3-year warranty.

Formally the fitting presents a circular aperture recessed into the ceiling plane with a smooth, inward-curving conical baffle. The trimless, plaster-in construction means there is no visible bezel once installed; variants are available with a GU10 lamp option or integrated LED modules with 24 and 40 beam choices and high-CRI options.

The internal baffle is deep-set to shield the light source and reduce glare, while the fixed orientation directs light vertically downward for controlled task or ambient illumination. The smooth geometry creates a soft transition between the recess and the ceiling surface.

This product must be installed before the final plaster skim to achieve a flush, seamless finish; please follow the manufacturer’s installation guide for the correct trimless housing. The downlight is rated IP20 and therefore intended for dry internal ceilings. The GU10 option is listed as a dimmable 4.1W 2700K LED, while LED module choices include 90CRI options at 2700K and 3000K.

Lighting Design Online recommends this fixture where a minimal, architectural ceiling appearance is required. We provide considered specification support and clear technical guidance to ensure the downlight integrates neatly into layered lighting schemes, with project-friendly details to reduce on-site uncertainty and a design-led outcome that emphasises visual comfort and material clarity.
