The Astro Pinhole Recessed Downlight is a trimless, architectural ceiling fitting from Astro’s Pinhole range. Its matt-white flush rim and deep-set, conical black baffle create a discrete, low-glare appearance suited to considered interiors.

Designed as a slimline, round aperture set into a square mounting plate, the pinhole form keeps the light source deeply recessed and discreet from most viewing angles. The fixed construction delivers a clean, permanent downward beam and a minimal ceiling footprint.

Constructed in metal with a narrow visible rim, the fitting pairs a textured matt-white exterior with a high-contrast matte black interior to emphasise the aperture. The product is fire-rated and IP65 rated for protection against dust and water ingress.

Light is delivered as a downward-directed beam. The downlight accepts 1 x GU10 LED lamp (maximum 6W) and offers module options including 24 and 40 beam angles with 2700K and 3000K colour temperatures and 90 CRI choices. The fitting is fixed and non-adjustable, providing consistent task or accent illumination.

This is a trimless product that must be installed before the final plaster skim; use the installation guide to confirm the appropriate mounting details. GU10 lamps contain their own drivers so no external driver is required; dimming depends on the chosen GU10 lamp and compatible dimmer. The product is supplied with a 3-year manufacturer warranty.

At Lighting Design Online we frame this downlight as a design-led choice for a discreet, low-glare ceiling solution. We provide clear, project-friendly guidance and technical notes so you can specify with confidence and achieve a durable, considered lighting outcome.
