Roger Pradier Outdoor Wall/Ceiling Light

Roger Pradier Outdoor Wall/Ceiling Light, designed by Stphane Joyeux, is a surface-mounted exterior fixture that combines a geometric cage with a protected central diffuser. The pictured version shows a matte black frame with a white cylindrical core; the form is suited to both wall and ceiling installation for covered and exposed external locations.

The design intent is architectural restraint: a slim, square-profile cage forms a transparent box around a central cylindrical diffuser. The fixture is offered in a wide range of finishes, allowing it to read either as a subtle backdrop or a graphic accent in a faade scheme.

Construction uses aluminium with a choice of clear or frosted glass for the diffuser, providing durability and a clean, contemporary aesthetic. The cage-like frame and central core create a high-contrast, modern silhouette that complements pared-back external architecture.

Light is delivered from the central cylindrical diffuser, which shields the source to reduce glare and distribute softened light outward through the open frame. The open-cage arrangement allows illumination in multiple directions while the glass diffuser ensures an even, controlled output suitable for ambient exterior lighting.

Technical details include IP65 protection and Class II electrical insulation. Two compact footprint options are documented (206 x 253mm & 117 x 52mm) and the unit mounts directly to a flat surface via its back plate. The product carries a 5-year technical warranty and a 25-year anti-corrosion guarantee from the manufacturer.

At Lighting Design Online we recommend this Roger Pradier piece when you want a considered, architectural exterior light that balances form and function. The clear specification, durable materials and long anti-corrosion warranty make it straightforward to include in renovation or new-build schemes, reducing uncertainty and helping you achieve the right, lasting result.
