Osram DALI Dimmable LED Driver

The Osram DALI Dimmable LED Driver is the Optotronic OT/DALI 160/220-240/24 1CH G3 constant-voltage driver from Osram. Designed in Germany, this compact 160W unit delivers a regulated 24V DC output for LED strips and modules and supports DALI-2 digital dimming for intelligent interior lighting schemes.

The driver is housed in an elongated, slim rectangular white enclosure that keeps installation neat in service voids and ceiling voids. The top face carries a clear wiring diagram and technical markings; removable terminal covers at each end provide cord grip and strain relief and the casing includes integrated screw-fix mounting holes.

Constructed from white polycarbonate/plastic with steel fastenings, the chassis is printed with compliance and safety markings including CE, UKCA, ENEC, DALI-2 and SELV. The build is intentionally functional clear labelling and removable covers simplify wiring on site.

Functionally, the unit converts 220240V AC mains to a regulated 24V DC output suitable for constant-voltage LED systems up to 160W on a single channel. DALI-2 compatibility provides reliable digital dimming and integration into control systems. Note the unit is rated IP20 and intended for dry, indoor use.

Wiring is via clearly marked primary terminals for L and N and DALI DA control lines, with secondary 24V (+) and LED (-) outputs. The printed wiring diagram on the chassis shows terminal assignments; the terminal covers act as cord grips. For project specification, check controller compatibility and the exact warranty term provided with the product (310 years depending on the unit).

At Lighting Design Online we treat drivers as part of the design decision. Choosing the right constant-voltage driver affects performance, dimming behaviour and installation clarity we provide the technical detail and project-friendly guidance to ensure the Osram OT/DALI 160 delivers the intended ambience, reliable control and long-term assurance for considered interiors.
