Design For The People Glossy Floor Lamp

Design For The People Glossy Floor Lamp is a floor lamp from the Glossy range. The design, associated with Maria Berntsen, presents a refined, sculptural profile that suits living rooms and offices where considered ambient light is required.

The lamp reads as a minimalist, mushroom-like silhouette: a tall, slender cylindrical stem rising from a substantial circular marble base to a wide, shallow hemispherical opalescent glass shade. The frame and hardware are finished in brushed brass, giving a calm metallic accent to neutral interiors.

Construction combines a solid, weighted white marble disc with subtle grey veining, a brushed brass stem and an opalescent white glass shade. A white power cord emerges discreetly from the base and connects to an inline circular foot switch for hands-free operation.

The opalescent shade softens and diffuses light to minimise glare, making the lamp effective for gentle ambient illumination and atmospheric layering rather than focused task lighting. The product is IP20 rated and intended for dry, internal spaces.

The listing does not specify lamps, an integrated LED source or a separate driver. Warranty information is supplied by the manufacturer and varies across regions (noted as 215 years); please consult the technical sheet or contact us for precise installation and dimming compatibility.

At Lighting Design Online we present the Glossy Floor Lamp as a design-led choice for balanced interiors: it contributes tactile contrast through natural stone and opalescent glass while offering straightforward operation and clear specification. Our guidance helps ensure the lamp fulfils its role in a layered scheme with quality and clarity.
