Design For The People Align Pendant

Design For The People Align Pendant is a ceilingmounted pendant designed by Maria Berntsen for the Align range. The fixture presents a nested doublehemispherical form that reads as a calm, architectural object for interior ceiling illumination.

The Align uses a minimalist, layered geometry where one halfsphere sits within another to create an asymmetrical profile. The inner shade is movable so the pendant can be set for direct downlight or a softer, angled glow. The range is available in White and Black finishes.

Construction uses moulded plastics/acrylics with a satin, soft matte exterior surface on the pictured white version. A small, brasscoloured pin serves as the functional pivot and a discreet visual accent. The pendant is suspended from a conical ceiling canopy by a slim cable.

The inner hemisphere has a warm, reflective interior that helps shape the light while controlling glare. Adjusting the movable shade changes the direction and quality of the emission, allowing the Align to work as a focused task light or a more diffuse ambient pendant depending on its setting.

Installation notes: the suspension cable is heightadjustable at the canopy and the brass pin provides the shade pivot. The fitting carries an IP20 rating and is intended for interior dry zones. The pendant can be dimmed when used with a compatible dimmable bulb; check bulb and dimmer compatibility when specifying.
