Lodes Shift Wall Washer is a pared-back wall light from the Shift range, designed by Marco Piva. Its compact, squircle form and matte metal surfaces reflect the Italian design approach: architecture-led, quietly present, and intended to let light shape the space.

The Shift is deliberately low profile with a recessed internal section that conceals the source and directs illumination onto the wall to create a soft wash. It is offered in two sizes (Small and Large) and available in Matt White, Matt Black, Extra Matt Champagne and Natural Brown, allowing specification to suit scale and interior tone.

Constructed in metal with a seamless external face and softly rounded corners, the fitting reads as a single, refined object on the wall. The finish options and crisp geometry make it unobtrusive in contemporary schemes while remaining robustly detailed.

As a wall washer the Shift produces directed wall illumination for ambience and accent; the recessed aperture reduces direct glare and emphasises texture and shadow on vertical surfaces. It is specified with a CRI of 90 and offered in 2700K or 3000K colour temperatures, and carries an IP20 rating suitable for dry, internal spaces.

The Shift is designed for hardwired mounting to a standard electrical junction and includes a one year manufacturer warranty. Manufacturer data does not list included lamps or drivers; confirm lamp, driver and dimming requirements at point of specification or contact us for project guidance.

At Lighting Design Online we recommend the Shift when you want a discreet, architectural wall washer that prioritises light quality and compositional calm. Our advice focuses on choosing the right size, finish and colour temperature for the wall surface so the result feels intentionally balanced; we also support practical questions about installation, dimming and product compatibility to ensure a considered outcome and long-term reliability.
